In this chapter, Lady Cordia helps Marco to learn the identity of his mysterious atŧackėr, revealed as Eiza Carnefice, now in the service of the Ombra family; in between themselves, Marco and Cordia decide that the proper punishment for Eiza would be to fɔrce her into a new contract with the DeLucas, giving her a chance to redeem herself in the eyes of the "good guys". The next day, Marco sets into action his complex plan of reconciliating Isabel and Gracie, which involves the assistance of Wilfred, Luna, several gangsters, a remote freezer room, and lots of double-play to put smartass Gracie off her guard.
